Good Samaritans Rebuild Home For Solo Mum

Jessie Liku now has a reason to smile.
This was after eight pastors from the Global Awakening Prayer and Healing Ministry showed up at her temporary shelter and volunteered to rebuild her house from scratch without her having to pay anything at all.
Ms Liku’s story was first highlighted in the Fiji Sun after her partner allegedly burned their home along Edinburgh Drive Settlement in Suva.
The mother of five had suicidal thoughts, but it was the face of her children that stopped her from making the decision that could take her life.
Fijians here and from around the world had reached out to the family to support her with clothing, food and cash ever since her story was published.
On Thursday, Ms Liku was all smiles as she watched pastors and members of the Global Awakening Prayer and Healing Ministry construct her new home.
“I just can’t describe how thankful and grateful I am today,” she said.
“I thank the Global Awakening, Prayer and Healing Ministry; I thank the Fiji Sun for publishing my story of needing a house and I thank God for answering my prayers.
“I thank God for his provision and for using this ministry to get through to me in my time of need.
“He has been good, and I thank God for the good hearts that have poured in to assist us as a family.
“I thank the pastors who volunteered their time to be here and help me rebuild my house.”
She said she was happy, and the new home would bring her peace.
“I have always worried about where my children would be sheltered and for this group of pastors to show up and offer their assistance, I am so thankful.

Global Awakening Prayer and Healing Ministry Suva District Pastor Samuela Moceitoga said they were happy that they were able to put a smile on Ms Liku’s family.
“We saw the story in the Fiji Sun, and we coordinated a response and contacted her,” Pastor Moceitoga said.
“We went on to buy the house materials, and we are here now to rebuild her house.
“This is just eight pastors who are here to build up the house and we hope to finish it by the weekend.”
The ministry has been reaching its members online and home visitations for home cell meetings.
He added that the bible said that God is love and they were happy to portray God’s love in action.
