Suva On Track To Defend FUTSAL Title
Digicel FUTSAL Interdistrict Championship defending champions, HLB Mann Judd Suva, kicked off to a winning start on Thursday night.
They thrashed newcomers, Rakiraki 7-0 in their opening match at the Vodafone Arena, Suva.
Lami, Ba and Nadi also registered wins on day one.
Reginald Singh starred for the Suva side scoring a hat-trick while Shahil Dave, Vineet Nadan, Sunny Deol and Filpe Baravilala scored a goal each.
In the second match, Ba walloped Tailevu/Naitasiri 4-1.
Aisea Codro scored twice for Ba while Shivam Chandra and Malakai Rakula scored a goal each for the Men-in-Black. Merrell Nand scored the lone goal for the Tailevu/Naitasiri side.
Meanwhile, Lami created a major upset with an impressive 5-0 win against a star studded Extra Supermarket Rewa side.
Nikhil Chand, Aman Naidu, Jashnit Vikash, Amit Kumar and Navneet Chand scored for the Imtiaz Khan coached- side.
Other matches: Nadi overcame Lautoka 5-0 with a hat-trick from William Valentine and the two goals scored by Surjason Sami.
