Smart furniture for smart people – that is what Al Hamd Smart Living is all about.

The main purpose be­hind the introduction of these desks and chairs seven years ago, was to assist schools lessen the burden of having to buy new furniture at the be­ginning of every year.

A number of schools have purchased these furniture over the past years and realised the savings they have made.

In 2015, the company introduced new smart desks and chairs for An­drews Primary School in Nadi, sponsored by the Office of the Prime Min­ister.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama presented the furniture to the school.

Seven years

This year the company celebrates seven years of making a change in the education sector by providing these smart desks and chairs which are durable and come with a warranty.

Company managing director, Ashfaaq Khan, said he introduced these smart desks and chairs in 2016 for those who believed in tomorrow.

“The durability of this furniture which comes with a five year warranty on welding has saved many schools from having a hos­pital corner at the start of every term with damaged desks and chairs.

“What makes Al Hamd Smart desk and chairs unique from the rest is because of its unique design.”

 

Smart

He said they have no issues in regards to untreated or boxing timber usage, no issues of improper glueing or dowel.

“It is light weight which will not have health issues for students, has laminated tops which is not porous at all for any bacte­ria absorption.”

Besides these unique features, the desk has a larger book case space and also has a side bag hanger while the curved seats en­sure the students do not suffer from sciatic nerve /back damage.

Mr Khan said the modern MIG (metal inert gas) welding with thicker metal and powder coating paint meets the warranty requirements.

“The importance of warranty will defi­nitely lead to saving funds and improving other areas such as introducing innovative use of technology and digital tools to aid modern teaching and learning, ” Mr Khan said.
