Trio On Murder Charges Front Nausori Court
Three men facing murder charges were remanded by the Magistrate Court in Nausori yesterday.
Naitasiri farmers Semiti Vakatuakai, 28, Emori Naqova, 45, and an unemployed man of Kinoya Vilikesa Delana, 25, appeared before Magistrate Supreena Naidu.
It is alleged that the trio were responsible for the death of a 45-year-old security officer that was found lying unconscious along Brown Lane in Nausori Town on the night of Saturday, January 22, 2022.
Delana is also charged with theft and serious assault when he resisted arrest by two Police Officers from Nausori Police Station on that night.
The three accused men have opted for Legal Aid representation.
The case has been transferred to the High Court in Suva and adjourned to February 21, 2022.
They are remanded in custody and have been ordered to file a formal bail application at the High Court.
