Policy holders of New India Assurance can now pay their insurance premiums from one of 58 Post Fiji outlets in the country.

This was after the two organisations signed a new partnership agreement adding to Post Fiji’s distribution channel for general insurance products.

Post Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Anirudha Bansod said this was in a bid to diversify specialised products in their distribution portfolio, coupled with the superior customer service standards.

“Working with New India Assurance is a good way to make some money and provide better services to the people,” he said.

“What we are doing at the moment is that we have a product extension into the postal industry.”

“This is because our traditional co-products are declining.”

“This is where we are trying fill up the gap with new products by joining with this company.”

Mr Bansod said Post Fiji with 58 post offices was offering services in the remotest corners of Fiji and has commemorated its 150th Year in December, 2021.

“With this arrangement, people of Fiji will be able to buy NIA’s policies and avail other related services at Post Fiji outlets,” he said.

“Employees of Post Fiji are trained to attend to the insurance related queries of customers.”

Insurance Chief Operating Officer, M Rama said the partnership would enhance the bouquet of services offered by Post Fiji and was in tune with their vision of being the partner of choice in more than just postal services.

“NIA delivered robust business performance in 2020 with gross premium of $54 million and net profit of $13 million,” she said.

The company has been operating in Fiji since 1954 with four branches across Suva, Lautoka, Nadi and Labasa.
