There will be risks in business but it won’t stay forever even during the COVID-19 challenges.

With this in mind a couple, Sashi Lata and Prem Chand Lal finally opened the doors to Sashis Shopping Centre at Paras Point in Vunivau, Labasa yesterday.

The centre opening was done among close family members in light of COVID-19 protocols.

Ms Lata originally from Waiqele, Labasa is a retired nurse unit manager of Labasa Hospital.

While her husband is originally from Nasarawaqa, Bua operates his own dental clinic in Labasa Town.

Some couples choose to relax after retirement while some choose not to take risk in investment especially during this pandemic.

Mr Lal, the first in the family to invest into a shopping outlet, said the risks were everywhere in business.

“I believe risk won’t stay forever in business hence, we should never step back to encourage someone or self to do something in life,” he said.

“Even during this pandemic we can do business provided with a positive mind set and family support.”

Ms Lata said while for her as a wife, mother, daughter in-law, and mother-in-law and now a businesswoman means more challenges in life.

“Juggling with different levels of workload and time would be something that I have to master,” she said.

“However, I am happy with the family support and choose to serve the community over enjoying my retirement at home alone.”
