Suva Netball Finals Start New Season

The deferred Suva Netball Association knock-out finals will start this year’s competition at the Vodafone Arena today says secretary Dominiko Tabuaura.
“The finals were called off last Saturday after the senior Fiji Sports Council staff stepped in. The staff said that one of our senior executive members was not complying with their (FSC) COVID protocol,” Tabuarua said.
“It was during the men’s final first quarter break, we had to call off the final,” he said.
The final between Alumni and Tiki will start at 10am followed by the Open Women’s final between Grasshoppers and Tagimoucia.
SNA will have their Super Women, Open Women, Mixed and Men’s competition rolling soon after the two finals up to 12 noon.
“We will start slow due COVID protocol and will pick up as we roll into our 10 weeks of competition.
“We have not closed registration, hopefully everything will be finalised on Saturday.
“Suva is looking forward to getting back to its track being the toughest team playing in the national champs with everyone looking forward to play good tough netball this season.
“Our major sponsor NEWWORLD IGA is backing us, remaining committed to our cause in developing netball and producing national reps.”
Officials and players are requested to submit their vaccination card which also captures their Birth Registration Number (BRN) by today; these will need to be with FSC for verification.
According to Tabuaura spectators are now allowed on the 80 per cent capacity and entry fee will be levied at a flat rate of $3 per person (players and spectators).
League registration fees are as follows: Super – $300, Open Women’s – $200, Mixed – $200 and Major – $250.
Registration fees to be paid directly into the SNA BSP account # 339316 with club names as narration and bank stamped deposit slip butt is to be forwarded to the association treasurer.
Registration fees close at the second round of games.
