Move Underway To Revive Kadavu Rugby

Interest from outside has mooted the move to revive one of Suva Rugby Union’s old regulars the Kadavu Rugby Club.
Former club member and now Fiji Rugby Union chief executive officer John O’Connor said this was an opportunity to strengthen their bond.
“Fellow Kadavu people living overseas have joined forces supporting the revival of the club,” O’Connor said.
“Kadavu was one of the oldest club registered with Suva and we hope to revive it for aspiring players,” he said.
“We want to get things rolling at the soonest.
“There are a lot of Kadavu players who have joined other clubs, hopefully this club will call them back to the fold.
“But then we won’t be restricting membership, rugby is the subject here.
“We will start with one team, meaning we will start with the Koroturaga division.”
The other division in the SRU competition is the Escott Shield of which Navy are the defending champion.
