Labasa Call On Supporters

Subrail Park is ready to host its first sports event this Sunday after being idle for nearly 12 months due to the global pandemic Coronavirus.
Labasa will host Rewa in the second round of the Digicel Premier League on Sunday at 1pm.
The last match played there was in April when the Labasa women football women side beat Rewa 1-0.
The last DPL match was between Labasa and Nadroga where the hosts won 1-0 at on March 29.
Labasa Town Council acting chief executive officer, Mohammed Faiz Ali said the turf was in a stable condition and ready to host the 80 per cent seating capacity.
“Nearly 90 per cent of maintenance have been done; we should be ready by the end of the week,” Ali said.
“We are fortunate to be spared by Tropical Cyclone Cody. The damaged fence has been fixed,” he said.
“The resumption of games at the park will generate income for the council support other council projects and revenue,” he said.
Labasa men’s coach, Ravneel Pratap is delighted that they can now host football matches.
Pratap believes that the players need home support to turn things around for them after they lost to league newcomers, Nasinu, 2-0, last week.
“Home ground and crowd advantage always have bearing on any team’s performance and we will need that to perform to the expectations of our fans and association,” Pratap said.
Pratap is calling on all Labasa and Northern football to be at Subrail Park on Sunday to cheer for them.
“Every team goes through tough situations – that depend on how players respond. Fans provide the morale-boosting support that is why we need them at Subrail Park on Sunday,” he added.
