One of Suva’s oldest taxi businesses has moved.
Regent Taxis Pte Ltd no longer operates out of its Amy Street base at Toorak.
Managing director, Harish Chandra, said the taxi base relocated to 76 High Street in recent weeks.
A second base operates out of Batiki Street, Vatuwaqa, he said.
The relocation was deemed economically viable, given the challenges of COVID-19, he said.
Regent Taxis was founded in 1967, before it was purchased from Southern Motors in 2013, Mr Chandra said.
“We are now looking at the prospects of buying a property, since we have paid off the purchase of the company from 2013,” he said.
Regent Taxis has a fleet of 35 taxis which operate on a rotational shift.
