Chief Justice Kamal Kumar has given fresh instructions to the Fijian Teachers Association (FTA) to file their submission on February 18 (tomorrow).

It was heard in court that plaintiff lawyer Simione Valenitabua was supposed to file an answering affidavit in December 2021.

However, he informed the court that he would not be filing an answering affidavit, but would be filing for submission.

Chief Justice Kamal has informed lawyer Mr Valenitabua to file the submission on February 18. The defendant would file an affidavit in response on March 1. The plaintiff would file its affidavit in reply on March 8.

The case has been adjourned for hearing on March 10.

The FTA is challenging the Government policy, arguing that there was no evidence to prove that unvaccinated employees make the workplace unsafe and claims that more than 200 teachers had lost their jobs after refusing the COVID-19 vaccination.
