Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport Shaheen Ali says the opening of the new Digicel flagship store at TappooCity Suva indicates confidence in the capital by the teleco provider.

The outlet which was a $250,000 investment opened yesterday on the ground floor of the iconic building.

It boasts an additional business solutions hub expanding Digicel’s one-stop-shop concept.

This is the sixth store in Suva and the 17th one across the country.

“What we are seeing today is more than just another year of progress,” Mr Ali said.

Progress not only for Digicel but progress for our city, progress for our people, our economy and of course, our strength in terms of connectivity, he said.

“Choosing TappooCity is a strategic move for Digicel, a convenient choice for your customers and people,” he said.

Digicel Fiji chief executive officer Farid Mohammed said: “We believe in continuously improving the standard of service that we provide to our customers.

“We have had a lot of feedback in that Digicel has grown over the years in Fiji.”

“We added new services and our retail experience needed to be enhanced accordingly.”

Digicel store at the corner of Cumming Street closed due to unforeseen circumstances, however Mr Mohammed said that the partnership with Tappoo Group of Companies added value to the telco’s services.

“It also allows us to expand our operating hours here in Suva,” he said. The store will open seven days a week.
