Leaked Year 12 Maths Paper Replaced

The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts has acted swiftly to mitigate any potential issues arising from the leak of the Year 12 Maths paper, by preparing a new paper and distributing it to all secondary schools in time for exams today, (21/2/22).

It came to light on Friday (18/2/22), that the paper had been leaked by an employee of the printing company to a student who subsequently shared the paper with his friends.

The matter is currently with the police and they are taking the necessary steps to ensure that the culprit is brought to justice. At this point in time, the Ministry is not in a position to reveal any further details as the matter is under investigation.

Minister for Education, Heritage, and Arts, Premila Kumar expressed her disappointment with those involved and said the Ministry would be taking steps to prevent such cases in the future.

“It is very unfortunate that the employee from the printing company was involved in the leakage of the paper, and it clearly shows how people can act very irresponsibly,” said the Minister.

“To prevent similar incidents, we have to have plans to counter any such attempts so as to maintain a fair and balanced testing environment for all our students.”

The Minister added that this was unfair to those students who have diligently studied and prepared for exams and assured all students that such criminal activities will not compromise their exams.

The Ministry confirms that all schools used the new exam papers today and exams ran smoothly.

The Ministry urges the general public to refrain from any unnecessary speculation that will only add to the anxiety and apprehension that students may have due to this unfortunate incident.
