Pratap: We’ll Take One Point

New Zealand Fan Club Labasa football team made amends following their Digicel Premier League loss last week to register a 1-1 draw against Rewa on Saturday st Subrail Park.
Labasa had lost their opener against Nasinu, 2-0 last Sunday.
What happened: Rewa meant business from the first whistle as they controlled possession, dominated play in the midfield area and looked dangerous when on attack.
Labasa, thrived on counter-attacks with tireless, Ratu Anare creating many opportunities but failed the expected finishing touches.
Halftime: Labasa 0-0 Rewa
The Babasiga Lions got their act together in the second half; they focussed more on attacking but lacked cohesion – they missed numerous goal-scoring opportunities.
Defender Akeimi Ralulu broke the scoreless deadlock when he blasted a thunderous shot outside the 18-yard box, Rewa goalkeeper, Mohammed Alam was caught off guard. Labasa led 1-0.
Rewa retaliated in the 52nd minute when Iosefo Verevou equalised after Labasa goalkeeper spilt the ball inside the box, which Verevou slotted home.
Comments: Labasa coach, Ravneel Pratap, said: “We will take the one point but return to the drawing board to improve our play.”
Rewa coach Rodicks Singh said: “We had a better first half which we let go in the second half, but my players managed to get the crucial goal that counted.”
