House Fire In Khalsa Road

A partially concrete and corrugated iron house in Khalsa Road, Nasinu was razed to the ground early yesterday morning.
A neighbour, Monish Kumar said the fire had spread through the house in a matter of minutes.
He said they were still awake around 12.30am on Sunday night when they were alerted of the fire.
“As soon as we heard screams, we went outside and saw that the whole house was blazing in fire. We have no idea what might have caused the fire.”
Mr Kumar said he understood that the owner of the house had gone to the village.
However, he said there were about five to six people in the house including children.
Mr Kumar said that he and others in the area tried to put out the fire by using a hose pipe, but it was too late.
While the back of his house sustained minor damage from the fire, Mr Kumar said he was glad that no one was injured from the blaze.
The National Fire Authority is investigating the fire incident.
