More than 20 Nadi market vendors gathered at their first Business Continuity Plan training hosted by the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF).

FCEF chief executive officer Kameli Batiweti  says the training is important for the vendors as they are vulnerable to loss every time there is flooding in Nadi.

Mr Batiweti said some thought that BCP was implemented for only large businesses but FCEF looks after the interest of businesses for everybody.

“This business continuity plan is for everybody. Our job is to look after the interests of your business. Some people think we just look after the big businesses.”

He told the vendors that the BCP is important because when disaster strikes their business will not be disrupted.

“Business continuity plan is a plan that you are going to develop for your business that creates the what if, what if the cyclone hit on Sunday.

Participant, market vendor Sainimere Vivuga said the training conducted by the FCEF was an eye opener to them as it prepares them for any disaster.
