Baker Job A Dream Come True For Mum Of 3

A leap of faith into a home bakery business seems to have a bright future for Bulou Aseira Lewasau Gonedua.
With a dream of spreading the business across the country, this mother of three said it came about thanks to two couples in the United Kingdom.
The couples funded a training course for a local consultant to help participants like her start their businesses.
“We are funded by the founders of Yanu-Yanu Bakery; the lovely two couples in the UK who had spent money on training costs, staff payment, equipment, etc,” the 30-year-old said.
“Our official training and business started on the 24th of January where we were taught and equipment and first products were provided to start our business.”
While this Fiji branch of the Yanu-Yanu Bakery may be owned by the couples in the UK, it is run here by Ms Gonedua.
The former Air Terminal Service employee said: “Everything is baked in a charcoal oven which makes the taste superb and it is something new and something to look forward to.
“Charcoal bread, plain bun, cream bun cream loaf, cheese loaf, heiki roll , coconut roll Yanu-Yanu pizza, and more will be adding more of our products as we grow, like the famous Babakau Delight.”
She also said the home bakery location was quite accessible and that as a woman, it had been her goal to become successful, supportive and most importantly, have a vision to start a business.
“It was my dream to have a business on my own and I am hoping and believing this bakery will spread across Fiji.”
She also credited the church she attends for helping her dream.
