Cotter Says Fijian Drua Need To Take Control Of The Game

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side need to settle down and take control of the game if they are to do well in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.
This was gist of Flying Fijians head coach Vern Cotter’s message after watching the Drua’s opening match against the Waratahs, last Friday.
“Starting was important and I believe this will provide the much-needed feedback for players and coaches,” Cotter said.
“The team didn’t seem to settle or gain enough control to upset the Waratahs. There were some basic errors that broke down some interesting initiatives.”
“Getting this game under their belts will help them settle and offer clear targets in set piece, ball retention, discipline and how they want to express themselves.”
Cotter said flanker Kitione Salawa and replacement first five-eighth Caleb Muntz played well as they were involved in the game.
