Nalagi Hotel in Nadi will be embarking on three major projects in the coming months.

This also includes a brand new restaurant to complement its current operation.

General Manager Lu Wang revealed this during the GM’s cocktail event last Friday night, where various business partners and stakeholders were present.

“We had a Chinese restaurant but it was closed down due to the pandemic so now we will be taking this opportunity to reopen a better restaurant,” he said.

“In what form we are still having discussion on it but the work will start in two months time. We want to do some live cooking on the rooftop which has a swimming pool and also grand views.

“Thirdly, we want to attract and build on our conference and spa facilities.”

Mr Lu Wang said the event was also a way to announce the re-opening of the property for all business activities and also to show sincere appreciation for the support given over the years.

“We hope we are only able to strengthen our relationship moving forward as we have been an isolation/quarantine facility in the last two years, s

“Now we formally announce that we are open for public use and people can come back to use the facility.

Mr Wang stressed, “We have and we will continue to have more local staff but only three foreigners at some point in time.

“We have around 60 staff during the low season so we are planning to employ more locals when more guests flock in.”

He added their exclusive rooftop swimming pool with grand view has been a seller which the locals were deprived of when Nalagi was being used as an isolation facility.

“There has been grand support from Tourism Fiji and Ministry of Health and Medical Services during the last two year period.”

Meanwhile, the company during the pandemic assisted the staff members and their families along with the community of Saunaka village.
