Ravouvou, Kunatani In 7s Squad

The inclusion of Olympians Vatemo Ravouvou and Semi Kunatani in the Fiji 7s squad will add depth in the preparations phase.
Speaking to Sunsports Fiji Airways Fijian sevens head coach Ben Gollings said the two players bring experience to the squad.
“The nice thing here is these players have a lot of sevens experience,” Gollings said.
“Semi has been fantastic in terms of understanding what it takes to make it big; he shares a lot with the young players in what needs to be done and that is great.
“He is been very supportive with us coaches.
“Ravouvou has come in with so much knowledge and experience.
“It gives us balance and I think the other players are enjoying it and it’s great to have that combination.
“Training has been absolutely fantastic, we had a bit turn around in the weather and the rain is gone and now the sun has come out.
“It has been a testing condition, it is really hot for the boys who have taken the challenge to train under the hot sun and that is fantastic to see.
“We build again as a team; we are meeting the objective achieving what we want at this stage.
“The players know that currently we are in pre-season mode which is hard-work mode and that hard-work is building block and foundation on where we want to go later.”
Golling adds that Jerry Tuwai plays an important role in the team.
“There is an air of confidence and happiness when Jerry’s is in camp,” he said.
“He is incredibly an experience player, hes fantastic bond with the players, he knows the players well and relates to them well – that’s what makes him good from a player’s perspective and leadership.
“He’s here for the players and what’s best for the players. That is what we want as management and coaching staff.”
