Pastor Who Allegedly Molested 14 Boys Says He’s Still Employed By Church
A pastor, who is charged with seven counts of indecent assault, eight counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted rape, told the court he was still a pastor for the Methodist Church of Fiji.
The accused said he was transferred to Bukuya in Ba after he was charged.
Kaio Nakeke is expected to take his plea on March 8.
The accused appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Waleen George at the Suva Magistrate Court yesterday.
It is alleged that the accused sexually assaulted 14 males from the age of 10 years to 16 years between 2018 to 2021 in a village in Gau, Lomaiviti Province.
It was heard in court that the accused was waiting for the full disclosure to be served.
Magistrate George told the Police prosecutor that the caution interview and other disclosure were to be served to the Legal Aid representative by 4pm yesterday afternoon.
The accused has been further remanded.
