March 28 Trial For MP Nawaikula

Mr Valenitabua added his client wanted to be part of the announcement of the 2022 Mini Budget and asked Justice Rajasinghe to give a date suitable for his client.

March 28 Trial For MP Nawaikula

The trial for Member of Parliament, Niko Nawaikula, who is charged with obtaining travel and accommodation allowances to a total value of $20, 201.35, will start on March 28, 2022.

Mr Nawaikula is represented by lawyer Sevuloni Valenitabua.

He appeared before High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe yesterday.

 

FICAC lawyer told the court that a two-week trial was sufficient while Mr Valenitabua said FICAC had provided them with documents that he wanted to go through.

Mr Valenitabua added his client wanted to be part of the announcement of the 2022 Mini Budget and asked Justice Rajasinghe to give a date suitable for his client.

The trial will be from March 28 to April 1 before a one-week break and continue on April 11 to April 15.
