The application for leave to appeal by Veronica Malani was dismissed and struck out by Chief Justice Kamal Kumar on Thursday.

This is in the case against Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde. Malani had appealed a decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions to not prosecute Mr Sayed-Khaiyum after she alleged that he was involved in two bombing incidents in 1987.

In his ruling, the Chief Justice said Malani had failed to produce any evidence to prove that DPP was biased in its decision. He added the applicant did not show any exceptional circumstances that justified the grounds for leave to appeal.
