The Digicel Fijian football team had their first training session as soon as they arrived in Doha.
Speaking to SUNsports, head coach Flemming Serritslev said he was impressed with the standard of the pitch at the Qatar University ground.
“It’s a positive start for us,” he said.
Serritslev said the attitude of the players were overwhelming as they wanted to go out training and not using jet lag as an excuse to stay indoors.
“That was what we did and the players enjoyed the training session and when we returned they were able to rest well.”
The wily coach said, he has moved their training session to 8pm.
“This is to help us adapt to the situation as our games are played around this time,” he added.
