Swire Shipping Plans For Expansion Of New Service
Swire shipping is planning to expand its container sales and leasing unit services to other locations in the Pacific Islands.
This comes after the shipping company recently launched a new container sales and leasing unit in Papua New Guinea.
The new services is to cater for the growing need for secure storage solutions for clients in Papua New Guinea.
“In addition to catering to the demand for secure storage, this business will provide a vehicle for Swire Shipping to find uses for their end-of-life containers.
“The end uses for used shipping containers are numerous, including: domestic secure storage; conversion into accommodation or site office units; and even drying units for crops such as cocoa and vanilla,” Swire Shipping stated.
With major domestic PNG infrastructure projects taking place, Swire Shipping states that they are well placed to cater to the huge demand from these sectors too.
