Drua Help Out Flood Victims

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua players took time out to visit evacuation centres in Lennox Head, New South Wales, in Australia, yesterday.
The evacuation centres sheltered flood victims from Lismore and nearby regions.
Drua chief executive officer, Brian Thorburn, said about 20 players were at the evacuation centres while others where engaged with the children there.
“Today, was our day off so we decided to come out and assist the victims,” Drua hooker Tevita Ikanivere said.
Thorburn said the act of bravery by the Fijian abattoir workers who helped rescue elderly citizens from Lismore during the flood has really inspired the Drua.
“The Drua is giving out tickets to these Fijian workers to watch any of our three Super Rugby Pacific games played in the South East Queensland in recognition of what they did,” he said.
Meanwhile, Meli Derenalagi will again captain the Drua in Saturday’s clash against the Queensland Reds in Brisbane.
