The world’s top soft drink brand and Fiji’s leading hardware company have stepped forward to sponsor the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua.

Drua chief executive officer, Brian Thorburn, confirmed yesterday that Coca-Cola and Vinod Patel have joined the Vuvale (family).

“Vinod Patel is giving $500 shopping voucher to the Drua’s Man of the Match award of every game we host,” Thorburn said.

He indicated that Drua centre Apisalome Vota was first recipient of the award after a sterling performance in their 31-26 win over the Rebels last Friday.

“The players could send the voucher to their families in Fiji so they could use,” he said.

Thorburn said there is still room for sponsors as they have a spot on the Drua’s shorts and also the match officials’ uniforms.

“These uniforms are for match officials who come and control our home games.”

He reiterated that the Drua brand is a successful one and would go a long way.

Meanwhile, Fiji Rugby Union chief executive, John O’Connor said they are also looking for sponsors for the Flying Fijians and the Fijiana XVs as well.
