Fiji Can Move Forward, Put Differences Aside, Heed Govt Advisory: Bainimarama

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is advising Fijians not to ignore doctors’ advice and seek medical help in the early stages of an illness.
He made the plea yesterday while speaking on the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) iTaukei Radio Fiji One programme Nai Lalakai.
He said Fiji can only move forward if everyone puts their differences aside and heed all the government advisories given.
“When I took up the leadership position in Fiji, we went through a lot of difficulties but that did not weaken us, we emerged from it victorious,” Mr Bainimarama said.
Going through difficulties, he said, was not new to him as he had witnessed in his life while undergoing medical treatment in Australia.
Mr Bainimarama reassured people that the government will continue with its focus on improving the lives of all citizens especially for youths as they are the future of the country.
This is testament through the visits by the Minister for Youth Parveen Bala to various communities to give equipment to help youth groups with income generating initiatives.
He said 150 youths of Dawa Village, Natewa, Vusaratu and Vusasivo were currently engaged in a carpentry programme facilitated by the Fiji Mahogany Trust and Ministry of Forestry.
Rural development, he added, was also an integral part of government’s initiatives.
Furthermore, Mr Bainimarama highlighted the Revised 2021-2022 National Budget Consultations conducted by the Minister for Economy and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
The mini budget announcement will be made in Parliament by Mr Sayed-Khaiyum on Thursday, 24th March, 2022..
