Number Of School Students In Rural Schools Decline
A decline in the number of students in rural schools has been noted by the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts.
Permanent Secretary Angeela Jokan said every three years schools were re-graded due to the number of teachers and students per school.

A decline in the number of students in rural schools has been noted by the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts.
Permanent Secretary Angeela Jokan said every three years schools were re-graded due to the number of teachers and students per school.
“We have noticed that in the past 10 years the school rolls in the rural areas are declining very steadily.”
“This is due to urban drift as parents prefer to send their children to better school facilities in the urban centres.”
