Vucago ‘Anti-Vaxx’ Case Postponed

Vucago has been given until April 6 to file her affidavit in reply and her submissions, while the defendants’ lawyers have been allowed till April 20 to present theirs.

Nanise Vucago, a former public health inspector, will have her constitutional redress against the COVID-19 vaccination postponed until May. The matter was called before Chief Justice Kamal Kumar at the Civil High Court in Suva yesterday for hearing.

The court, however, vacated the order and scheduled a new hearing date.

Vucago appeared in person and filed a Constitutional Redress case against the Commissioner of Police, Minister and the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations and the Attorney-General.

Vucago has been given until April 6 to file her affidavit in reply and her submissions, while the defendants’ lawyers have been allowed till April 20 to present theirs.

Vucago has been given till May 5 to provide a response.The hearing is scheduled for May 17.
