Ex- Fijiana 7s star Tisolo Shines In Suva’s Win

The Wallson Suva Women’s rugby side put on a sterling performance to wallop Nadroga 35-14 in the first round of the ANZ Marama Championship at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.
The Capital City side outscored the visitors by five tries to two for a bonus point.
What Happened: Suva’s first try came in the 23rd minute by former high school sprinter and winger Paulini Korowaqa which was converted by centre Luisa Tisolo.
Nadroga replied with two consecutive tries from number eight Elenoa Kunabuli.
Both tries were converted for a 14-7 lead.
Just as Nadroga thought they had the upper hand in the first half, Suva hit back with Tisolo scoring their second try which she also converted.

In the second spell, Suva changed their game plan as they tested the Nadroga defence.
This worked with Tisolo and Korowaqa scoring their second tries in the match with the conversions going over for a handy 28-14 lead.
In the 75 th minute Suva full-back Miliakere Vakarewa scored their final try, which was converted to extend their lead to 35-14.
Comment: Suva team manager Alisi Komaitai told FRU Media: “Our girls played well, as they stuck to our game plan.”
“Our backs and forwards combined very well.”
“Next week, we will look into our mauls and tackling areas plus there was a red card today and we will try to improve on that.”
