Police Prosecutor Hatches Dream, Becomes A Lawyer

Police prosecutor Ravi Narayan, 40, is one of the 11 University of Fiji students who were newly admitted to the Bar by Chief Justice Kamal Kumar at the High Court in Suva on Friday.
The father of three children started his career as a dedicated Police officer in 2002 and served as a prosecutor for the past 15 years before he was admitted to the Bar.
Mr Narayan was happy as he described how it felt great after he hatched a dream of becoming a lawyer 10 years ago.
His motivation came from the Magistrates Court in Nasinu where he started to serve as a Police Prosecutor in numerous court cases against graduate and experienced lawyers.
“When I saw a few lawyers looking down upon the Police Prosecutors, I thought I will become a lawyer and prosecute even better,” Mr Narayan said.
“It all started at Nasinu Court where I became passionate about starting my journey as a lawyer.
“I will continue to serve the Fiji Police Force after being admitted to the Bar.
“I am a dedicated Police officer and a prosecutor and I will continue to serve with the same dedication.”
Mr Narayan said his journey was not an easy one but he received al lot of support from his family.
