Vikash Returns, Boots In Nasinu‘s Winner

Nasinu midfielder, Jashnit Vikash scored his first goal of the season in their 1-0 win over Navua in their Digicel Premier League clash at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, yesterday. Vikash missed a few rounds of the DPL as he awaited his transfer confirmation.
His lone goal was a much-needed three points in Round 6 of the DPL, says coach Sahib.
He applauded Vikash’s performance as they desperately needed a win after three consecutive losses.
Sahib said: “It’s good that we bounced back after three losses. We have been improving in every game but this game was a crucial win for us. At first we want to compete for the DPL title but the more important thing now is to stay in the DPL next season.
“The philosophy of the team is, if you have the ball you’re an attacker if you without the ball, you’re a defender. We work on game tactics on which player can play against which teams and on set pieces which is 30 per cent of our training.”
What happened: In the 10th minute, Nasinu was awarded a free kick for a foul. Midfielder, Vikash, took the kick and scored.
Halftime: Nasinu 1-0 Navua
Navua striker Melvin Mani led their attacking moves as they tried to score the equaliser. Mani’s goal attempts were denied by Nasinu goalkeeper Viliame Rakuro.
Navua coach Saiyad Ali was red carded over his frustrations on the referee while assistant Sailosi Danford stepped in to guide the team in the second half.
