Togovere Village Under 7 Days Health Emergency
The Typhoid outbbreak in Togovere Village, Ra has forced the village to go under a public health emergency for seven days.
Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete confirmed this yesterday. He said from Tuesday; March 22 to Tuesday; March 29, there will be restrictions of movement into and out of the village.
“Staff from the Ra Medical Subdivisional Team will be at the village to conduct mass screening of all residents and implement typhoid safe measures to contain any further spread of Typhoid.
“The Ministry of Health advises individuals from nearby villages and areas who may have attended recent social functions at Togovere Village to be vigilant about any symptoms they may experience and seek medical advice for treatment.
“More importantly the public is advised to adhere to typhoid safe measures.”
