Tonga Beat Fiji For The First Time

For the Fiji time Tonga rattled South Pacific netball giant Fijian Pearls when they won 68-54 during the PacificAus Sports Netball series in Sydney on Tuesday evening. That win sits them on top of the points ladder with four points after winning their first two games at the series.

Tonga Beat Fiji For The First Time

For the Fiji time Tonga rattled South Pacific netball giant Fijian Pearls when they won 68-54 during the PacificAus Sports Netball series in Sydney on Tuesday evening.

That win sits them on top of the points ladder with four points after winning their first two games at the series.

Tonga had walloped Papua New Guinea 85-42 on Monday. Fiji now sits second with two points after beating Samoa 55-44 in their first match. They edge Papua New Guinea with 97.32 per cent.

Coming into the series, Fiji were the highest ranked, however after their loss to Tonga things have shaken up at the series.

According to Netball Australia Uneeq Palavi was the powerhouse for Tonga, scoring 54 goals against the Fijian Pearls.

Against Samoa on Monday Fiji’s goal attack Unaisi Rauluni and goal shooter Matila Vocea made perfect attempts at goal which led to their win but that combination failed to click against Tonga.

PNG are on third spot with two points following their 64-49 win against Singapore. They are on 79.70 per cent.

Winless Samoa and Singapore are yet to score points on the points table. Tonga now has 158.33 per cent while Samoa on Number Four has 80.00 per cent and Singapore on 76.56 per cent.
