Tailevu In For A Surprise

Tailevu rugby head coach Samisoni Bai is adamant that his side will surprise Suva in the Round Two of the Skipper Cup clash at the Ratu Cakobau Park, in Nausori tomorrow.
Tailevu had lost to Nadroga 29-14 while defending champions Suva lost to a versatile Nadi outfit 20-12 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva last weekend.
Bai said: “It was a good lesson we had have learnt in that match especially from the mistakes we had committed.”
“This is a very young team. We had gone back to the drawing board and have drawn up a plan.
“Learning from our mistakes we need to work hard against the Suva. We are ready.”
He added that the side has been working on their combinations and trusting their process.
“Nadroga exposed loopholes in our side. We have to work on our agility and speed. We have to work on the set pieces and in the decision making also.
“We are developing the pathway. It is important that we stay up until the seventh round. In 2020 we narrowly overcame Lautoka and Yasawa,” he said.
He added that half of the team were debutants but with old hands that include Timoci Vunimoku, Joseph Elisha, Sailosi Taka and Peniasi Ravuadolo they are good.
“We also have other players who have risen up from the development and under -20.
“Message to the fans is to rally behind the squad and we will surprise Suva.”
The match kicks off at 3pm, U19 match is at 11pm and the development game kicks off at 1pm.
