‘We Want The Farebrother’

The Nadroga rugby team is looking forward to taking back home the INKK Fiji Rugby Farebrother trophy.
Coached by Etonia Naba, Nadroga take on trophy holders Naitasiri in the major rugby double header match, which includes the Skipper Cup at the Naluwai ground tomorrow.
Last weekend, while Nadroga trounced Tailevu 29-14 on a water-logged Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, Naitasiri successfully fended off Namosi 20-5 in their double header.
Naba said: “We have ironed out our mistakes and we are ready to bring the Farebrother home.”
“There are more areas to work on and room for improvement. We have been concentrating on our weaknesses preparing for Naitasiri in Naluwai,” he said.
“Our game against Tailevu exposed a few areas we need to work on; we have had to tighten our lineouts, scrums, and tackles. It is the mentality of the boys to perform their best.”
For this season, Naba is showcasing eight debutants – Aisake Atani, Jiuta Biau, Sevuloni Lutu, Jack Volavola while Manoa Mocelutu, Meli Kurisaru, Akuila Saukuru and Tomasi Qaniuci against Tai-levu. They are on his possible list this weekend.
“Eight debutants, I was very happy. We have introduced them, and they performed,” he said.
“The weather was a contributing factor, but it is no excuse because we all know that this month is a rainy month.”
Naba also thanked the Nadroga coaching panel for their assistance in the transition.
“In such a short period of time, we managed to prepare the side to maintain the winning momentum.”
The Stallions lost the prestigious silverware in 2020 to Namosi.
The Eremasi Radrodro captained-side take on Naitasiri at 3pm; the U19 at 11am; Development at 1pm.
