Tawa: We Worked Harder To Beat Naitasiri

Nadi Women’s rugby centre, Losana Kuruibua, scored a hat-trick of tries as they thrashed Naitasiri 61–7 in the second round of the ANZ Marama Championship at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, on Friday night.
The bonus point win enabled the hosts to bounce back in style after their first round defeat to Yasawa.
What happened: The hosts were in command right from the first whistle. Nadi dominated the set pieces but what let them down was discipline.
The first half tries were scored by Kuruibua, number eight Vasiti Domoniko, prop Aseri ‘The Bus’ Galo, Merewai Cumu and full-back Ilisapeci Nailebo with the lone conversion from first five eight Torika Lesavua.
Halftime: Nadi 27-0 Naitasiri.
In the second spell, Nadi came back stronger as they scored five tries. Kuruibua dotted down two, flanker Aviame Veidreyaki, Cumu and Galo with two successful conversions from Lesavua.
Naitasiri were awarded a penalty try.
Props Seruwaia Tawa and Galo were shown the red card for their unprofessional play.
Comment: Nadi captain Seruwaia Tawa said: “We needed this win badly after our loss. We worked harder and we managed a bonus point win. The girls stuck to our game plan.”
