Winless Labasa Face Ba In Nadi

The winless Labasa football team face a mammoth task as they take on Ba in Sunday’s Digicel Premier League clash at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.
A rejuvenated Ba side came from behind to beat Nadi 2-1 in Sunday’s DPL clash.
Ba coach Daniel Krishneel told Fiji FA Media the difference now is that players are listening to the coach and are sticking to the game plan.
“We were (1-0) down at halftime so I reminded the boys the need to play 90-minute football,” he said.
“This is what the Ba football team is renowned for and they played right to the final whistle.”
Krishneel said the win was for their loyal fans and the new management to run Ba Football Association.
The Northerners suffered shocking losses to Navua and Nadroga and are now at the bottom of the points table.
This Sunday’s fixtures see three matches being played at Prince Charles Park.
At 12pm the much-improved Nadroga side under coach Archie Watkins take on Nasinu while at 2pm hosts Nadi face Suva before the Ba, Labasa showdown at 4pm.
At the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour, Deuba, Navua take on points table leaders Rewa at 3pm.
All Whites, Solomons in final
Meanwhile, New Zealand take on Solomon Islands in the final of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Oceania qualifiers.
The Solomon Islands edged Papua New Guinea 3-2 in a semi-final thriller while the All Whites pipped Tahiti 1-0.
