Electrical Vehicles Charging Stations Agreement To Help Fiji’s Climate Fight

The agreement to develop electric vehicle public and private charging stations here is expected to help Fiji’s climate fight.
Fiji Climate Change Act requires decarbonisation of the transport sector.
According to Electric Assets and Techno Fiji PTE Ltd chief executives officer, Sanjay Maharaj, the agreement to explore opportunities for a joint venture to develop electric vehicle public and private charging stations would not only help Fiji’s mandate to cap carbon emissions, but also help in reducing fuel import cost with a direct impact in preserving foreign reserves.
“The adoption of electrical vehicles is on such a trajectory that current worldwide demand outstrips supply,” he said.
Techno Fiji PTE Ltd CEO Ajai Punja said: “This is an exciting opportunity to work together in establishing the benchmark and electrical vehicles charging standards for Fiji.
