The Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma continues to support the Government’s decision to prohibit unvaccinated worshippers from entering the church premises.

The message was reiterated by the church in a circular yesterday.

Church President Ili Vunisuwai has urged members to adhere to the law and respect the decision not to allow participation by unvaccinated members in church properties.

The circular stated that there was confusion among church members on whether unvaccinated worshippers could enter the churches or not.

It was clarified that the church leadership met with the Permanent Secretary for Defence Manasa Lesuma, Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong and Fiji Police Force Chaplain SP Reverend Waisale Tikowale.

It was confirmed at the meeting that the law on restricting unvaccinated worshippers had not changed regardless of the lifting of restrictions to full capacity attendance and optional wearing of masks.
