Natabua High School Year 12 top student, Inaya Adeeba Ali, at­tributes her success to to her parents, whom she considers her pillars of strength.

She scored the school’s high­est mark during the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination.

“I would like to dedicate my achievements to my fa­ther Imron Ali, my mother Mehshreen Ali, my grandpar­ents, my family and the staff of Natabua High School,” she said.

The 17-year-old scored a to­tal of 394 out of 400, with 100 in Maths, 100 in Chemistry, 99 in Physics and 95 in English.

She said she was made aware through the Minister for Educa­tion, Heritage and Arts Premila Kumar’s address last week that Natabua High School was one of the top 5 schools nationwide that had an individual student who scored the highest marks for the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Exami­nation.

She said that she had her share of difficulties when stud­ying for tests, but that she stuck to a rigid study schedule.

She said she gained motiva­tion and inspiration from sci­ence research during the pan­demic.

“I also envision myself sup­porting the health care system in the future. I would like to pursue a medicine and clinical research career,” she said.

Proud mother and Na­tabua High School teacher Mehshreen Ali said she was delighted with her daughter’s achievements considering her academic record.
