Babasiga Lions Want Second Win In Nadi

The Ravneel Pratap coached- Labasa football side want to continue their winning run against hosts Nadi in Sunday’s Digicel Premier League clash at Prince Charles Park.
“I am always positive about this team, we have our ups and downs but I have told the boys not to quit,” Pratap said.
“It will be tough, playing them (Nadi) at home despite their 2-0 loss to Suva. Nadi will be going for a win but we have to come prepared.”
The Babasiga Lions walloped Ba 5-2 to claim their first DPL win.
Labasa striker, Christopher Wasasala, who was red carded against Ba will miss the Nadi match.
However, the Northerners are banking on the combination of Anare Apenisa, veteran Taniela Waqa and Siotame Kubu.
“I think Taniela Waqa has found his goal scoring boots and I was speechless on what he did when he came off the bench. He is still going strong.”
Coach remain hopeful
Meanwhile, Nadi coach Kamal Swamy is hopeful of turning things around against Labasa.
Playing in front of their fans, he is confident that this would be the much-needed catalyst in their campaign to secure three points.
The Green Machine after their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Suva are desperate to restore lost pride.
The side will have a daunting task to contain a fired-up Labasa side.
“It’s has been disappointing losing three consecutive games, that is very bad,” Swamy said.
“We are playing well but we are not scoring. That is something we will try to make it happen.
“We will try not to give many gaps behind which allows the opposition to score from their set pieces.
“Overall we have improved in terms of keeping possession.”
The side will be banking on key players like Rahul Krishna, William Valentine, Nikesh Singh, Ame Votoniu, Joshua Tawake, Chris Kumar, Napolioni Qasevakatini, and Solomon import Jaygray Sipakana.
Nadi are on eighth spot with six points from six games- two wins and four losses.
Labasa are on ninth spot with five points from six games.
