Our 3 Players to Watch in the Series

The HSBC World Sevens Series continues in Singapore, this weekend.
The Fiji Airways Fijian men’s 7s team are there with their newly appointed head coach Ben Gollings along with his assistants, Viliame Satala and Jerry Tuwai.
We’re on a rebuilding phase after our gold medal triumph at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Veteran halfback Tuwai, Waisea Nacuqu and Josua Vakurinabili are the survivors from Tokyo while the rest are newcomers to the series.
From our last participation in Dubai, it has been a learning experience for our newbies
They’ve a fair idea of what to expect but more importantly the standard they need to be playing in.
Let’s take a look at three of our upcoming players who could make their mark in the Singapore and the Vancouver tournaments.
FILIPO BUKAYARO
The man who is tasked to take over from Tuwai.
He has been a shining star for the Fijian Babaas during the local 7s tournaments and now he is to take it one step-up to the international stage.
With Tuwai guiding him, he could be our x-factor in Singapore and Vancouver.
JOSEVA TALACOLO
The lanky forward is our go-toman during the restarts and lineouts. He was impressive in Dubai recording
good stats in the DHL Impact Player standings.
Now training under Gollings and Satala, we should expect a much improved performance from Talacolo.
TIRA WILAGI
At times he is known as Tira Patterson and an explosive runner with the ability to break tackles.
The former Fijian Under-20 played for the Fijian Warriors, where he played three matches and scored six tries.
This got him a stint with the San Diego Legion in the Major League Rugby where he scored three tries from the three matches he played for the US club.
The fifteens Warriors winger has been named in the forwards and will be interesting how he fares in his first series.
