Women who want to represent the Fijian rugby team to the Rugby World Cup from October 8 to November 12 in New Zealand, must prove themselves.

That’s the message from the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua head coach Senirusi Seruvakula.

“It does not mean you play for Rebels, Force, Reds or Waratahs in the Super W you can get into the (World Cup) team,” the no-nonsense coach warned.

“You’ve got to prove yourself first. No one is guaranteed a place in the World Cup squad.

“We are going to look at every girl’s performance and ensure that the right people are going.”

Seruvakula, who is also the Fijiana Women’s rugby head coach said they are blessed to be playing in the Super W.

He said despite being on the winning run, the Fijiana players have been told to keep on working hard, review their past games to keep on learning and to cut down on their mistakes.

“I don’t want them to be thick headed with all the wins they have been having.

“We’re going to keep on with our play and hopefully improve on them.”

Seruvakula said the focus is to beat the Brumbies tomorrow night.

‘We’ve to win against the Brumbies so we could keep the top spot.

“We are not going to underestimate them. We want to win and win comes with hard work.”

The match kicks off at 7.15pm.
