Shipping Services Fiji Limited Now Agents For Hamburg Sud
Shipping Services Fiji Limited is now the local agent for global container shipping line, Hamburg Sud.
Hamburg Sud, has been trading in the Pacific since 1957, and was the first shipping line to introduce containerisation to New Zealand, on the vessel the MV Columbus New Zealand, in 1971.
Shipping Services Managing Director, Bernard Hong Tiy, said: “Hamburg Sud is a solid, legacy carrier that has built up a great reputation of service to Fiji.
“We at Shipping Services will ensure that the well-known Hamburg Sud adages ‘no matter what’ and ‘by your side’, which speak of their commitment to excellence and close working relationships will be replicated and perpetuated in the import/export market in Fiji.”
Weekly service
Hamburg Sud with vessel operating partners Maersk and NPDL operate a weekly service into Suva and Lautoka that connects to New Zealand transhipment hub ports, Tauranga and Auckland.
