Alleged Hit And Run Leaves Man Dead

Twenty-four-year-old Thomas Ligadua Vosalevu is believed to be the latest road fatality victim following an early morning incident. It is alleged that it may have been a hit-and-run incident.
Police Spokeperson, Ana Naisoro said the incident occurred along the Queens Road at the Muni Ratnam Junction in Sigatoka after 2am on Friday morning.
Mr Vosalevu, who resided at Korotogo Back Road, was an employee of Courts in Sigatoka.
He was last seen by a 36-year-old man who was on his way to drop a passenger at Korotogo near the Oloolo Junction.
The man offered the victim a ride which he allegedly refused.
It is alleged that sometime later another witness, a 35-year-old driver from Malaqereqere saw the Mr Vosalevu lying motionless in the middle of the road.
The witness reported the matter to the Sigatoka Police whereby officers rushed the victim to the Sigatoka Hospital.
Mr Vosalevu died an hour later.
Police are requesting anyone with information or may have seen anything after 2am along the above-mentioned areas to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
Investigators have interviewed both witnesses as investigations continues.
