Fiji ran in ten tries of which six were converted as they walloped Japan 62-0 in their final pool match at the HSBC Singapore sevens tonight.

Newcomer Vuiviawa Nadurulo’s a hat trick, a try each from old hands Josua Vakurinabili and Joseva Talacolo saw Fiji handsomely leading 31-0 at the break.

Then the Fijians accumulated the same in the second half, this time two tries from Iowane Raturaciri and a try each from Filipo Bukayaro, Kaminieli Rasaku and Josevani Soro.

The score now puts Fiji comfortably on the top of the points table with the match between giant killers Ireland and France to confirm the final standing.

Then France would need a 36-point win difference to secure a spot from their pool for the quarterfinals tomorrow.

That is a mammoth task as Ireland is making a mark as the team to keep an eye out on after they beat Fiji 21-12 in the pool opener.

The cup quarterfinals will kick off at 4.28pm tomorrow, semi-finals will start at 8.13pm while the final will be played at 11.28pm.
