Suva Wary Of Unpredictable Navua In DPL Showdown

Digicel Premier League points table leaders Suva are wary of minnows Navua in their clash at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour, Deuba, tomorrow. The hosts held Rewa 1-1 last Sunday, which enabled Suva to take the top spot. Suva coach Babs Khan said despite their 2-0 win over Nadi, there are still rooms for improvement.
He pointed out that Navua have recorded many of their wins at the Uprising Sports Centre. “We are playing Navua in Navua and they are like Lions on their home turf,” he said.
“We have watched videos of their games and see where we can attack from and we have to work on our defence as well.” Khan said on Tuesday they assessed videos of their games and areas they need to improve.
“When figuring it out you are happy but at the same time you have to see areas to improve on. There are many areas to improve on.”
Suva goalkeeper, Jovilisi Borisi, is likely to be rested after he injured his ankle against Nadi.
This could see national team goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva playing after returning from the FIFA World Cup Oceania qualifiers in Qatar. Reliable defender Malakai Rakula who scored twice against Nadi is a sure starter along with Ramzan Ali, Marlon Tahioa, Filipe Baravilala, Shazil Ali, Waisake Navunigasau, Ravinesh Karan Singh, Meli Codro, Merrill Nand and Simione Nabenu.
