We’re Taking Rugby Seriously, Says Nadi Captain

The Merewai Cumu captained- Nadi Women’s rugby side hammered Lautoka 34-5 in a bonus point win in their ANZ Marama Championship clash at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, on Friday.
The host scored six tries to one in a one-sided clash.
What happened: In the 8th minute, flanker Jennifer Bennett scored an unconverted try as Nadi led 5-0. In the 20th minute prop Aseri Galo scored Nadi’s second try with the conversion going wide. In the 32nd minute, prop Seremaia Tawa scored Nadi’s third try, which was converted by first five eighth Torika Lesavua 17-0.

In the 39th minute centre Cumu scored their fourth try with the conversion from Lesavua.

Half-time: Nadi 24-0 Lautoka.
In the 54th minute, locks Salote Tubatoga dived over for Nadi’s fifth try to extend their lead to 29-0 before Ilisapeci Delaiwau’s try made it 34-0. In the 74th minute, flanker Selai Draunibaka scored Lautoka’s lone with the conversion going wide.
